Crime and Calamity in Cholsey

This Coming Friday evening (8th March) I will be interviewing local author Barrie Charles, about his latest book “Crime and Calamity in Cholsey”.

As the name implies, this is a new local history book concentrating on some of the more sensational events in the parish between the years 1819 and 1919.  At 240 pages, it contains no end of detail about local people and places, as well as some of the more scandalous or tragic goings-on.

In the course of the interview Barrie will read extracts from the book and answer questions from the audience.  There will also be an exhibition and an opportunity to buy signed copies of the book.

The evening will begin at 7.30 in the Free Church hall.  Refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition and a further book signing will also be open to the general public between 10 and 12 am on the Saturday morning.
