It was great to see so many people at the Play Area Planning Session on Saturday 13th October. Between 20 and 30 people – adults and children – came along to talk about what they would like to do and what equipment they would like to see in the new area.
A specialist play equipment manufacturer – Edmund Hudson – also came along to offer advice and provide an initial design. If you would like to see some of the work his company has completed you can visit his website at treehouse-designs.co.uk.
The Parish Council has enough infrastructure money to install the equipment, maintain it for ten years and then replace it at the end of its life.
Some suggestions for the play area included a pirate ship, trains, swings, things to crawl through, a trampoline and a climbing wall. A mound was a very popular suggestion, especially if people could ride their bikes up and around it.
Some thought will need to be given to ensuring that children of different ages are able to play without impinging on one another.
A small steering group was set up and we will report back once we have a potential design from Edmund.
