When asked about the potential site 69% “fully support” the proposal and a further 20% expressed support “with reservations”.
Initial analysis indicates the need for more retail choice and competition, with a desire for another petrol station in the town. Many people said they would no longer need to travel out of town to buy food.
Visitors to the exhibition also raised traffic issues, public transport links to the new store and what can be done to ensure the store complements the town centre.
