Well over two hundred people turned out to protest against the damage that the proposed gravel pit will cause to heritage assets. Popular local attractions such as the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway and the Agatha Christie Trail, which attract thousands of visitors to the area, will be forced to close or – worse – destroyed.

We are hoping that, in the autumn, an independent Government Inspector will overturn the County Council’s decision to allow a gravel pit to be developed between two of South Oxfordshire’s largest.communities.
