And PLEASE come along if you can!
Date: Sunday 1st July
Location: Start point 1: Cholsey’s Jubilee Field (by school back gates), moving on;
Start point 2: Cholsey and Wallingford Railway Station, Wallingford
Time: from 11.30am
CAGE is organising a one-off event to enable the community to come together to make a stand against Oxfordshire’s proposed plans for gravel extraction. The Cholsey and Wallingford railway will be running a special, unscheduled service from late morning onwards between Wallingford and Cholsey stations to coincide with this event – this will be free for those interested, although donations would be welcomed. Media wll be invited.
Schedule: For Cholsey: 11.30 muster safely in the Jubilee field ready to walk as a group past the school and over the humpback railway bridge, meeting and waving at the CWR train in the adjacent field at noon. Those attending church service at St Mary’s may prefer to wait for others to arrive.
For Wallingford: 11.30 muster, either to mark the event at the station or be passengers on the train.
Refreshments will be served in Cholsey’s St Laurence Hall (School Road) and Wallingford station from 12.30.
Please make some time. You can shout and walk with others with your homemade banners, hide in the trees and lick an ice-cream, wave out from the train, or sit sedately with a drink and a sandwich in the Laurence Hall or CWR station. Or try to manage all of it… Everything is making a point and helping CAGE.
Feel free to come dressed up in Christie-themed clothes, or anything respectably attention grabbing. We also ask for help to get the message out to friends and relatives.
