Message from: Cholsey Gravel Extraction
Campaign (CAGE) Date: Sunday 1st July Location: Cholsey’s Jubilee Field (by school back gates) Time: from 11.30amCAGE is organising a one-off event to enable its social groups, individuals, families and stakeholdersto come together to make a stand against Oxfordshire’s proposed plans forgravel extraction.
The Cholsey and Wallingford railway will be runninga special, unscheduled service to coincide with this event. We will be using Cholsey’s history, AgathaChristie and much more. Wallingford will also be invited to run its own event, for even greater impact.
Media will be invited.
We need as many bodies in the Jubilee Field at the same time as possible, gathering from 11.30, ready to all shout together at 12pm noon. Please mark the date in your diaries and help get the message out to friends and relatives.
Feel free to come dressed up in Christie-themed clothes, or anything respectablyattention grabbing! Bring banners. We need to set to work on a peaceful protest. Refreshments will be available, as will bucket-holders to receive collections. CAGE needs up to £30000 to pay for the barrister and other experts – donations are coming inbut more is needed. We also need some volunteers to help with the event – for all sorts of very easy tasks.
