This afternoon we went to the pictures. No, not at The Corn Exchange but the new John Piper exhibition at Dorchester Abbey.
This is our second Piper exhibition this year, having enjoyed the current show at The River and Rowing Museum in Henley.
This new show is an eye-catching selection of Piper’s work in several media – paint, stained glass, textiles, ceramics to name but four. The space devoted to the collection within the abbey was thronged and we were further entertained by a marvellous orchestra and choir who were practising nearby.
To round off the afternoon we had a marvellous tea in The Abbey’s famous tea rooms.
